Brian McDonald is President of MOR
Associates. Maximizing Organizational Resources (MOR) was created in
1983 to assist clients in developing strategies designed to elicit the
contributions employees want to make to enhance the success of their
enterprise.
Brian has increasingly focused his
practice on developing leaders, enhancing strategic thinking and
consulting on continuous improvement efforts.
Brian’s expertise in designing and
delivering leadership development has resulted in his facilitating
MIT’s Leader to Leader program, New England Business Service (NEBS)
Leadership Development Program, and New York State Education
Department’s Leadership Academy while participating in programs such as
GE Capital Leadership Symposium in Europe. Brian is also working with
Tufts University School of Engineering to integrate leadership and
teamwork into the curriculum.
Brian has also developed a practical
approach to strategic thinking that can be used to set a strategic
course or can be used as a framework for tackling a specific issue.
This approach has been used to analyze billion dollar markets with the
United States Postal Service, as a framework for outlining a five-year
plan for the School of Engineering at Tufts, and as a process for
establishing the strategic direction for TYCO Electronics-M/A-Com
business units.
Brian has served as a consultant to
national steering committees established to lead and manage major
change processes. He has provided training to over 10,000 individuals
for the USPS on how to develop a cooperative work climate and involve
employees. He has consulted to the Board of Regents for New York State.
He facilitated the debriefing of the TWA flight 800 recovery operations
with over 125 participants from multiple agencies. Brian created a
prototype course for NYS’s quality process that was used to provide
skill development for over 30,000 people after a train-the-trainer
program.
Brian’s experience, style, insights, and
passion have made him a valuable resource for organizations looking to
achieve better performance.
Prior to establishing the firm, Brian was the Associate Director for the Northeast Labor Management Center and before that he was Deputy Chief Secretary to a Governor. He has taught courses as an adjunct faculty member for the Suffolk University School of Management.
